Review of DitterCon2014 by Etienne Gibbs

My review: * Ditter, you're an amazing author, entrepreneur, and event organizer, whose second annual meet-the-authors, book-signing, and authors-cruise event, DitterCon 2014, was, as they say, "off the chain". From my observation while conducting the live remote interviews, everyone seems to have had a delightful time. I know I did! But the icing on the cake was the authors interacting with each other on the follow-up cruise. Thank you, Ditter, for going above and beyond! Thunder and Roses

They thought they could control him. They were dead wrong...

Tonya knows it's time for a decade-long conspiracy to come to a head, but no one can know her true identity. Her feral nature and instinctive mistrust have kept her alive for the past five years of deep cover. When her only choice is to run or face death, she runs. What she doesn't count on is Dakota Thunder, a Council bounty hunter who never misses a target. Tonya is running out of time, and the only man she can trust is the last man who should ever believe her.

Dakota Thunder is no stranger to betrayal. From a childhood born of nightmares to the death of his sister, he knows exactly what his kind are capable of. No one escapes his justice. What should have been a routine bounty pick up drops Dakota in the middle of a deadly blood feud involving shifter trafficking, extortion, and murder revolving around one wise-cracking beautiful woman of leopard royalty. She gets under his skin, digging her claws into his heart and reminding him of things buried long ago. He'd planned for everything except Tonya and the evidence that could bring down one of the most powerful organizations in the shifter world.

Nothing could have prepared them for their explosive attraction or the depths at which a madman would fall in order to destroy everything they love. With nowhere to turn, and the net growing tighter, they'll have to trust in one another to survive.

Latest review of Ember Burns!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sex, Mystery and Humor all make for a great read, January 11, 2014

This review is from: Ember Burns (The Seeker) (Kindle Edition)
Ember Burns is the first book in The Seeker series by Ditter Kellen. I really didn’t know quite what to expect. Let’s face it, I have never read a romance novel and have not read an erotic book since the early 1960s when I was in France and then I only read them because we couldn’t get them here.

Ember Burns opens with a little bit of backstory about murder and photographs. This was done nicely. It adds a taste of mystery but also foreshadows some. And yes, there is some humor. Early on, the humor is about someone the gals think is a lurker and/or gauker and of course best friends sneaking around spying on someone. Of course, I was laughing about the sneaky women, not the guy.

I’ll not give the storyline away here, but the mystery begins when someone sends Ember, a photojournalist, photos of a murder. You’ll have to read the novel to understand why sending photos to a photojournalist could possibly be construed as not being a good thing.

Ember Burns is a great play on a name for this photojournalist, too. She’s a hot one! Almost as s soon as she meets her new next door neighbor, the clothes hit the floor and things start getting very steamy. There are a few things about that I found somewhat humorous. But I can’t describe them here because that would give too much of the story away.

This novella is a joy to read on a Kindle, a tablet, and even my Note II phone. The writing and dialogue is great and the formatting is excellent for electronic gadgets. However, there is a major cliffhanger at the end

My review of The Serpent's Game by A.C. Frieden

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read!January 7, 2014

This review is from: The Serpent's Game (Jonathan Brooks) (Kindle Edition)
Are you a fan of Robert Ludlum or Daniel Silva spy thrillers? If you are, this book will leave your syna
pses crackling and hungering for more from A.C. Frieden. The hero is New Orleans maritime lawyer Jonathan Brooks, and he now faces an impossible dilemma. Only days before Hurricane Katrina tears through the city, a woman from his past--a Russian spy named Mariya--asks him for a favor. And it’s not an easy one. She wants him to recover a body at the morgue that she thinks is her nephew. But Brooks discovers something far more troubling than he ever imagined. The first chapters weave through his search for clues, blending forensic pathology and good old crime-solving skills, with fiery tension between the characters, and strong dialogue, too. But when Katrina strikes, Brooks’ methodical investigation spirals into a desperate fight for survival. Chased by unknown assassins and caught up in the mayhem of New Orleans’ looted neighborhoods, Brooks barely escapes the city alive. From there the twists multiply as he tracks down Mariya in Houston, and together they head to Central America for a storm of a different kind--a hair-raising hunt for villains in the Panama Canal and in the crime-filled streets of Caracas, Venezuela, where Frieden has some of the most gripping scenes. The heart-thumping tale also juxtaposes a fascinating subplot: Two CIA assets—an analyst and a career assassin. Their separate, conflicting travails regarding a potential North Korean defector eventually violently collide with Brooks’ pursuit in the Venezuelan capital. The story also includes short but riveting scenes in Havana, Moscow and Singapore to spice up the finale, where the stakes could not be higher. Full of suspense, realistic action, and smart plotting. Highly recommend!

On the couch with Madeline Pryce!

Reclining on the couch today, is Madeline Pryce

I'm so happy to have Madeline with me today! I met this beautiful lady nearly two years ago in one of my groups. Can you say PERSONALITY?! Seriously one of the funniest women alive! The one line I'll never forget...I had made a comment to her about hopping on her lap and her reply was..."You pick the music." Her quick wit and amazing talent made me a fan for life! I adore you woman...and the wet spot on that couch is not what you think. Besides...I wasn't the last one on it. I believe it was Christian Boeving. :D

A-DARK CRAVINGS-Blog Tour presented by Madeline Pryce

I want to thank my host today, Ditter. She is an amazing woman and without her, I wouldn’t have gotten as far as I have. Ditterverse is a world in itself! I’m so happy that Ditter has followed her dreams and started writing. Her characters are smokin’ hawt and I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with. Oh, and Ditter, I wondered about that wet spot...but if it came from Christian Boeving...*fangirl sigh* I'll stay where I am. *Wink*

Today, we are at the bar with Ella. She’s snarky, sexy and kicks all kinds of ass.

Heroine, Vampire (kind of)

I knew I was in bad shape because, despite how my gut clenched with hunger, my fangs didn’t lengthen. Erectile dysfunction. I had vampire ED, on top of everything else.

Micah’s Blood (she can’t really hold her liquor…)

Kate Beckinsale

Grapefruit Blood Orange Cocktail—so delicious!

For a chance to win an electronic copy of DARK CRAVINGS leave a comment (be sure to include your email). I’ll randomly pick a replier within three days for each blog stop. Don’t forget to enter the grand prize (Rafflecopter link at bottom). One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift card from Amazon or Barnes & Nobles.

1.5 oz. pink grapefruit vodka (regular vodka works too)
3 oz. fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
.5 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
3 oz. fresh squeezed blood orange juice

First you’ll want to juice your grapefruit, blood oranges and lime. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, grapefruit juice and lime juice. Shake well. Pour it into a glass filled with ice. Top with the fresh squeezed blood orange juice and a blood orange slice for garnish.

And one more thing, Ditter. You pick the music ;-)

As a half-breed vampire, Ella Grey’s life sucks. She does her best to pass the time killing demons and secretly admiring her Shadow Hunter partner, Micah. He’s hot, dangerous and knows it. He’d be just Ella’s type if he weren’t likely to kill her the moment she put a toe out of line.

A chance encounter with a succubus changes everything. From the second the succubus’s spell washes over them, Ella and Micah are helpless to keep their hands off one another. The sex, when it’s not leaving them on the verge of death, is earth shattering and for the first time in ages Ella is connected with someone on a level she’d feared lost forever. But a dangerous prophecy has been set into motion, and if Ella’s not careful it’ll pull her straight from Micah’s arms and into the deepest bowels of the underworld.

A Romantica® Paranormal erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave. Publisher’s Note: This book was previously published under the title Blood Lust Rising. It has been revised and expanded for EC.

Madeline Pryce wrote her first novel when she was ten, penned with neon-pink ink in a loose-leaf binder. Captivated by romantic literature, yet intrigued by the paranormal, she continues to develop her own voice, writing the kinds of stories that inspired her as a teen.
